You ever play a game so good that its mere existence makes you happy?
Like no matter what happens or how shitty video games become as a medium, this good game exists forever and you can play it whenever you want and it will always be good.
What's that game for you?

Skies of Arcadia
Best RPG ever made, none of the angsty emo shit associated with JRPG heroes, but an upbeat character with a never say die attitude.
I'm gonna get a lot of shit for this, but for me it's TF2.
Persona 4

TimeSplitters: Future Perfect. No matter what, I can always go back to it and feel better.
Halo 3. I can always log on and play some multi with my pals
Breath of the Wild reminds me of why I got into games as a kid. As a kid I loved exploring new worlds and meeting fantastic new characters where ever I go. Whenever I find a new area in BotW I get a big ass smile on my face.

i know they're not perfect but the gameplay and world just clicks with me,to me its perfect(perhaps the writing in d2 was a little lazy)

My nignog
For me it's either The Legend of Dragoon.
Or, and I'm prepared for the shit storm. Max Payne 3. Turned off the auto aim and loved everything about it.
Bloodborne and Nier Automata
Mount & Blade Warband
Dark souls, I loved playing adventure games like zelda when I was younger and dark souls gives me that same feeling I had when i played zelda. It's also challenging which I like.
Whenever I feel like shit I can calm down by starting a dark souls playthrough
For Honor
It was an incredible breath of fresh air and the 1v1 duels made my body tingle and gave me quite a rush
I would've said Dark Souls, but at first it was just simply frustrating because it was so difficult but after playing some time and learning I started to warm up for it and then realized the glory of the game.
I fucking love Okami, it fills me with whimsical, child-like joy
Holy shit a thread on /v/ that hasen't been destroyed by people getting upset over other people's opinions.
Resident Evil 4 or San Andreas.
Just for the fact that at the time I played these 2 amazing games (Among others
), life was simple and I wasn't stressed by thinking about the future.
It really was good times

Chivalry: Medieval Warfare
It's absolutely plagued with salt and autism
But the combat is so expressive that people instantly recognize you by how you play even with a smurf.

Majora's Mask and Symphony of the Night for me.

Mostly old RPGs, like Xenogears or Torment for example. Older games just have that "something", which makes them special.
They're so fucking good.
Like, goddamn. It's ridiculous how much fun they are.
>>378061589
The labyrinth levels are shit the first time through. I cant remember wich level it was but it had a teleporter puzzel in it that I couldnt complete for 2 days.
>>378062198
The gameplay is so fast pasted. I love the feeling of running into a room filled with umps, zombie gunner, and cacodemons and then blowing their brains out with a BFG. The level design is superb. The game can be played with many source ports. There is a huge nodding community that is still making wonderful mods for Doom today. The music is top notch and really gets you in to mood. Finally it is super fun to play it with a friend or two.
Eliwood, Lyn, and Hector were my only friends in middle school.

They should give you the GB player at the start of the game, though. Luckily, romhacks do just that.
Not truthfully, because while remembering the great games I loved from my childhood does give me a sense of joy, it also makes me yearn for simpler times I can't go back to. When I go on a nostalgia trip it's like a link opens up between that point in my life and my current point in life and I remember/feel everything between, wondering how it could have went by so quickly.

Dragon Age: Origins
Got at least 12 start to finished games in it.
Probably around 16.
>Human noble is best for lore. (If you could become king as dwarf noble it would beat it.)
>Female elf for the feels, either Dalish and city. Both get pretty sad somewhere in game.
>Mage for best gameplay both for combat and things you can do in story.
>Dwarf noble is best for a different kind of feel.
>Dwarf and human noble are best for giving you a reason to play. JUSTICE
Though I haven't played it in like 3 years.
Terraria.

Xenoblade Chronicles is the only game in a real long time that really drew me in, what an amazing experience. Stellar music, characters, gameplay. It might not be for everyone but fuck, I adore it.
I don't ever really replay it only because it's so long, but my memories of playing through XB are some of my fondest memories in gaming, period

"damn...things ain't so simple"
Now I refuse to finish MGSV (ironic since Konami Felt the same way apparently) because I know once it's done I'll never have a new MGS to look forward too...I'll never feel that excitement I felt when I first saw MGS4 on the TV, won't feel that excitement I felt when I bought MGSV and started it for the first time...Fuck
