It really doesn't matter what hardware you give them. They know that screenshots sell better than performance, and if you up the hardware they'll just slap in more eye candy bullshit until it's running at a cinematic 24fps again.

The reason for this is that we have noticed a severe drop off in game purchases among long time users.

First year owners typically buy five game. Then that goes down to three in the second year, and then one in the following years. People don't get excited about games for hardware they already own.

The PS4 Pro line is meant to encourage people to be more invested in Playstation products. A Player may not want a new game for a typical PS4, but if were to buy a Pro, he would go out and buy five new games.
