Really though, I think the slow progress might be due to Inti-Creates. IGA hired on a bunch of better talent recently (some guys who are better with Unity, IIRC), so maybe the game will move much faster with better team members on it. The news is disappointing, but I'll wait for the E3 demo to panic.

That's true, though I kinda wonder if this is just a buildup for E3. Like, they come out with this huge, awesome demo, and say, "oh, this is only 20% done, the final project will be 5x better." It's always better to be pleasantly surprised than to get hopes way up and disappoint everyone.

Yeah. Well, at the forums a staff member came on and said most of the assets and stuff were done, it's just that only 20% of them were put into the game and that's what IGA was referring to. Hopefully the 80% remaining goes much faster.

What are you talking about? The only thing that looks bad here, is the quality of the webm.
The buildings are highly detailed, and the modelling is tight. It's colorful. I don't see the problem for an unfinished build. The lighting could be better, but I'm sure they'll fix it before the game is released. Everything else looks solid.

And of course you don't bother articulating why it looks bad. You just post the webm without words, even though you know we've likely both seen the same footage. Why actually make a statement though?

The developers who work on kickstarter games will ALWAYS work on other games if they have the chance. As soon as a big developer asks for their help they will just drop the kickstarter project and work "in their free time" on it.
