No, they actually did not. Fans said they want a new classic style game. Sonic 4 doesn't do anything new and it fucks up everything that classic Sonic did. It has shit level design that at points actually doesn't make any fucking sense, it doesn't use momentum based physics which was literally the entire deal with classic Sonic and part of the reason people even like those games, they shoehorned a bunch of modern shit into it like homing attack and airdashes that no one asked for, it's very much not what any fan asked for.
