Good idea, but people really don't know what to do with the technology.

It's mostly the developers that are killing it by being incompetent and failing to adapt to the limitations of technology. There are some indies with good ideas, but nowhere near the budget and skills required to bring it to a full VR game.

PSVR is just another nail in the coffin.

What's the point of this if human life is meaningless and we're all going to die ? Is the purpose of our life to just try to cheat death for a short time longer and have as much simulated pleasure as possible to help comfort us from the cold void of death we are rapidly falling into ? What's the point of even breathing my next breath if everything will eventually just be erased in an expanding gaseous ball of fire and my own "consciousness" will just flicker off like a broken lightbulb ? Why even bother living any longer if there is no possible ultimate meaning one can assign to life ?
Anyways It'll be interesting to see if Valve really pushes VR into their new games since it could open a major door for many casual gamers to explore it with a safe name attached.

Neat idea

VR is a marketing gimmick that gets brought around every decade or so to rip off the new generation of retarded kids and retarded gamers.

It will never take off, it will only be brought back over and over again so people can basically steal money from people.

Watch.

In like 8 to 10 years, VR will try to come back again. Guaranteed.

And it will still just be obvious thrown together tech demos and mundane task simulators that cost way too much or are too trash to even bother with.

As an owner of a Vive, all the games I've played so far have been firmly in the "neat" territory, and not something I'd actually want to play for any amount of time.

Basically, they're all tech demos that are very impressive for the first 30 minutes but grow boring really quickly.

Also there's always this niggling thought in the back of your mind that you're wearing a headset and waving your arms about in your room, so if you get too immersed you'll knock something over, run into a wall or something, trip on the cable or drop the visor (the chaperone doesn't help much since it's easy to extend your hands past it before you notice it). Basically, it is possible to immerse yourself and forget you're wearing a headset, but your always consciously trying to avoid that because if you do you could damage something. The devs mostly refuse to acknowledge these limitations and instead keep trying to make action games with tons of moving about and dodging.
