Anyway, great story about Demonophobia. So once upon a time, I think this was about 2008, someone from /b/ decided to stream Demonophobia on what was, at the time, one of the biggest livestreaming websites. The link got posted in a couple threads on /b/, someone made a couple threads on /v/, and next thing you know there are a ton of people in this stream. On this site, the twelve or so biggest streams were displayed and linked on the front page. I think it also played a short looped clip of some of the recent stream footage.
Now, one of the bosses in Demonophobia is a uterus-shaped thing. I forget the specifics, but one of its attacks makes the loli start to masturbate and you have to mash buttons to resist it or else you die. Or something. Anyway, during this boss fight, someone came to the realization that we had so many people in the stream that it could potentially be on the front page. So he went to check.

And that's how a short loop of a loli masturbating got on the front page of one of the internet's premier livestreaming services. I think the guy was banned the next day.

Multiplayer communities on /vg/ tend to be alright.
/domg/ is still pretty solid after all these years, albeit a bit slow.
Single player game generals, on the other hand, tend to get fucking surreal after a year or so unless it's one of the generals dedicated to a whole genre.

Games like this unsettle me greatly. A game recently came out earlier this year called Don't Talk to Strangers.

I can watch Mortal Kombat fatalities all day but the minute I see graphic 16-32bit graphic deaths, my skin crawls like crazy. Excluding MK1, MK2, UMK3, Killer Instinct, and Killer Instinct Gold.

tl;dr on the video - The game starts with you driving down the road on a rainy night. You hit a deer, or so it looks like, and for a split second, it turns into a woman, then back to a deer. Que the game where she, as a ghost, begins to talk to you. You have to navigate your way through chatting to her and keeping her from killing you. Being a ghost, she's none too happy about being a stain on your windshield. Keep her content and happy, and the lights on, and she won't murder you out right. And in the video, there's some fairly fucked up, graphic means of killing you. There's very little context for some of the deaths, the very few mechanics in-game are never explained. But I guess that's the idea with its simplicity. Either way, all kinds of crazy shit can kill you, and some of it is so out there it's more weird if anything. But some just make my skin crawl badly.

Through the story we know, you two knew eachother, met at a Christmas party and...that's about it. She also enjoys games, and you hit her with your car, and kept right on going. After figuring out what to do, you leave the home and drive to one of four spots and begin to dig a shallow grave and bury her. If you're in the clear, you can keep digging and can bury her. If you aren't in the clear, she uses extend-o arms to rip your head clean off and you collapse into the grave with her and fill it with your blood and it looks like one of her hands is poking out of grave covered in your blood. But if you manage to keep her busy, bury her completely, then the game ends with you seeing her creepy half-rotten face with the text "winner!" below it.
