That's Chrono Trigger, but at this point I think you could judge people's worth on whether they actually PLAYED Chrono Cross or not. For some reason it seems to have slipped through the nostalgia dreamcatcher, and a lot of people who weren't RPG playing teens/adults when it came out will never play it, but people will play Chrono Trigger still.

You can really tell quite a bit about someone based on which Final Fantasy games they've played, and what they thought about each one.

None. There is not a single game which you can tell someone's "actual worth as a person with" because video games aren't everything in life nor indicative of character.

No, it's just trying to survive same as everyone on planet Earth is. That's the great thing about Chrono Trigger, not only does it flip the script one who the actual bad guy is (Magus) but it delivers a truly mature "villain" in the context of the players/protagonists perspective.

They simply don't make games like that anymore. They can't. Everything is about profit and sequels. There will never be another era where passion gets to color a game into something like what Chrono Trigger was.

In one sense it didn't do anything wrong in the same way that a pack of wolves that kills and eats your family doesn't "do anything wrong". Lavos was a creature driven by instinct and is essentially amoral as it has no capacity for reflection upon its actions.

On the other hand, he was going to destroy the planet, and the heroes sense of self-preservation is justification for it's death.

Then there's the "needs of the many outweighs the needs of the few" argument.

And Lavos is essentially a parasite. A literally alien parasite at that. No tears should be shed over its destruction.

But a case can be made for it not "doing anything wrong", yes.

Here's an admission, I didn't even touch Chrono Trigger when I was a kid. I was a huge fucking pleb who only cared about platformers.

Didn't play it until I was legally an adult, and I loved it. Still loved it.

This. The game is a simple test of determination and the ability to rise above your circumstances when the odds are stacked against you. When I interview applicants now I watch them play dark souls in my office for about 30 minutes. Usually tells me all I need to know about them.
