I loved it, I found them sort of spooky, it was great, one of my favorite parts of the game was the first five minutes inside the volcano divine beast since it's pitch black and you need to use your torch as guidance.

There are many bird-like statues there, and the direction each one is facing is the way you have to follow.

I just used the illumination from setting off bomb runes to feel out my surroundings, my ultra-conservative ways prohibited the use of fire arrows.
