Is it just me or is Sims 1 kinda tough?
Like the days go by so fast it's hard to just keep a job.

Not like Sims 4 where it's impossible to not be a millionaire with full skills after like a weekend.

The first game had very little overall content at launch, even for its time, and while great for its ideas and comfy factor, it could get boring very fast if you didn't have to feel like you needed to do something all the time, so need multipliers were cranked way up so that you had to constantly be watching them. It kept the player from getting bored.

As 2 and 3 brought significantly more launch content, these were lowered so that while taking care of your sim was a constant thing, it wasn't as bad as in 1. I remember even as a kid who loved it being frustrated that I couldn't go visit a lot or go to Magictown without my sim getting absolutely miserable and having a rock-bottom needs list after a few ingame hours. Sims 3 had this problem on launch itself, which made it really difficult as well until Seasons came and it was patched.

Then you have 4 which has almost as little content as 1 did on launch, but with significantly easier mood modifiers so that you don't even really need to care or put work in to become rich and set for life within an ingame weekend.

My bad, Sims 3 Seasons actually brought the mood modifiers bug, which is why it seemed so sudden and threw people off - some players even said their sims got hungry again in the time it took to wash a plate they'd just eaten a meal from.

Wasn't a launch bug, but happened then got fixed later anyway.
