PLS GOD! WHY ISN'T THERE A NEW MONSTER RANCHER GAME?! WHY HAVEN'T THEY MADE ONE FOR PC!
Imagine a Monster Rancher game on Steam with multiplayer servers or server hosting
>raise your monster in real time
>Battle and breed monsters with your buddies
>Weekly tournaments and events
>roguelike dungeons, like in MR4
Even outside of Monster Rancher, why aren't there any good Monster Breeding games that have these features on Steam? Is the Monster Breeding RPG a thing of the past?

ok is it rogue"like" or rogue"lite"
>>377835925
I think both of those terms have been used as buzzwords for selling indie games. Though, Roguelike does have a legitimate history of use.
A Rogue"like" is a game that shares characteristics with Rogue, in some way. Though some Indie devs have just tagged it on their project to mean it's procedurally generated and open ended.
I'm assuming a Rogue"lite" is a the same concept, except it's been watered down a bit, so that it doesn't have the curve of difficulty that a traditional Roguelike game would have.

I know your pain bro

The only monster breeding game that's worth playing on Steam is Siralim and Siralim 2, but the monster designs are boring. I would play the fuck out of it if they had better monster designs.
Is there any realistic way of telling game developers what sort of game that I want?

Developers don't give a fuck about you or your interests. They just want to sell games that are easy to make to people that are easy to persuade.
MR2 is my favorite.
I'm surprised a indie hasn't taken a crack at it with EA/kickstarter. Just do passwords or picture drawing (like the DS one) to generate the monsters.
I guess it's because monster designs play a huge part in this type of game and if you fuck that up the entire game goes with it.

Fuck steam but I really want a new Monster Rancher game, sure the monsters are all fucking palette swamps and have horrible designs, but still.
>always wanted a monster rancherh-game
>we got breeding season
Tell me all the things you want in a spiritual successor to Monster Rancher so I can pitch it to my boss.

Double the waifus
>>377838592
Not those.
I'm surprised they never went the mobile route. You could probably make a pretty decent monster rancher game without losing too much.
>>377835818
Maybe because monster rancher is actually fucking shit?
>>377837050
The monster designs aren't that bad and they fit the theme well enough. Siralim 2 is still a great game.

This. I honestly can't think of a monster based game that succeed with no waifu-bait
>>377839710
But they did, and failed miserably.
Monster Rancher was and still is easily my favorite critter raising series. I still play MR2 for a while a few times a year.
