No, the metal alloys so close to your computer cause the electronics inside to go on the fritz, your computer might assplode.
>>
The real reason laptops are shit for gaming isn't just that the hardware is generally weaker (which is also true)

The problem is that the compact design means the ventilation in a laptop is much poorer than a conventional desktop PC and even if you position your shit for optimal airflow it's going to constantly overheat and this will drastically reduce the lifespan of the hardware so after 2 years tops you'll begin to notice it run significantly worse than before in various ways
>>
Turn on triple buffering and v sync, that should take a load off a bit, also think about putting on power saver mode. This is all assuming you have a "good" gaming laptop to begin with and your shit isn't just incapable of running it properly without shitting itself
>>
Uncapped framerate in a game will make any pc go max temp
>>
What is stacking pennies on your laptop supposed to accomplish?
>>
>>377828938
i guess its supposed to be a heatsin of some sort
>>
>>377828938
there's a myth of it being a heatsink since copper is a good conductor of heat, however US pennies are only like 2% copper so OP is a fag.
>>
>>377827092

>>
>>377827092
Take it apart, clean it and apply new thermal paste. It will be good as new (apart from sluggish OS).
>>
>>377827092
Water cool your laptop
>>
>>377827092
There's an easy fix. Just uninstall the game.
>>
>>377829339

shame those arent US pennies then isnt it, fag

Are you saying he should try quarter stacking?
>>
>>377827092
Anon
just....just buy a console.
ask your mom or something
>>
>penny stacking

no, that's dumb.

You have to stack magnets, the negative will draw the heat out, and transfer it to the positive magnet, which will then get absorbed by the next negative, and so forth and so on.

So, just keep stacking magnets until you reach desired operating temp, it's the same way your AC works.
>>
>>377827092
Just put the laptop in the fridge and play from there.
>>
>>377829092
>>377829339
>Act as a heatsink
>Not directly connected to the cpu

Its like trying to cool down the oven in my kitchen by placing some sheetmetal in the livingroom
>>
Don't do this it creates mustard gas.

>>
Nah, just put a glass with water and ice next to the cooling intake. You have to replace the ice every 15 minutes as the water will get warm but it's an easy trick to get temps down.
>>
put your laptop in the fridge while gaming
>>
>>377830186
>not just renting out McDonald's freezer for your Netflix binges.
>>
>>377829982
You can also pour some water into the intake for instant cooling of ~10C. Trust me I'm a physicist.
>>
>>377827092
Use a ice pack.
>>
You can try
>cooling mat
>raising the laptop on something so it doesnt sit completely on a surface
>some sort of cooling device
>reducing core clock
>limiting framerate
>toaster graphics/performance mods
>playing better games
>>
>>377827426
w-why is her face red?
>>
>>377829982
This won't work because the reason it's overheating is because his intake is filled with dust. He needs to either clean it or buy a new laptop.
>>
>>377829982
this is tedious as hell but it actually works due to how much more heat it takes to raise the temperature of water compared to air
>>
>>377829510
>poor

Nigguh, he is literally using money to keep his shit coo!
Dat bitch is loaded!
>>
>>377827092
Put magnets on it instead.
>>
The pennies get really hot after about 10mins, i think its working. Got thermal paste but no alcohol to clean the old stuff. Gonna clean the dust now too, thanks guys and the fags trolling
>>
Anon, it's penis stacking, not penny stacking.
>>
stick a desk fan blowing on the pennies.
>>
>>377829676
>Durr uninstall Skyrim!

Nice unoriginal meme.
That won't fix anything.
Also, you're lame
>>
Only use ice spells, sounds like stupid trolling but it works because the spells are blue so it's easier to render, flames are red which takes more gpu power
>>
>>377829743
>ask mommy

Sounds about right for a cucksole retard.
>>
>>377827648

Actually, gayman laptops have very good cooling these days, and the only "weaker" hardware is the processor, since Intel won't board the desktop-parts-in-laptops train. Haven't seen mine go past 66° once, and the only time it's touched 66°, was with Witcher 3 maxed out with a 5% GPU overclock so I could keep a solid 60fps without dipping into the 50s.

>>377831458

My desktop's CPU has never gone hotter than 35 and GPU has only hit 55 a couple times

It hasn't though

It hits 30 when I play more modern games or use emulators

What do you even have to do to get it to 50-60, do you run 3 separate instances of Witcher 3 at max settings in a top floor apartment with no air conditioning

This.
People believe having a "heatsink" away from the heatsource is gonna do anything if the only thing between them is air.

akshually it does do something, just very little. If the heat sink is maintaned at lower temperature than the hot machine it will absorb more heat by radiation from the machine than it radiates back at it. But this effect is very small.
