Well, yeah, everyone's fucked, that's kinda the point of Babylon's Ashes.

Even belters are soon to be dead because they wasted all the resources they need to set up a stable ecosystem in space on fighting the inners. They can live off what they have for another 3-4 years before everything starts to break down.

Inners can ferry off as many as they can to the new colonies, belters are supposed to take on the role of space traders now ferrying supplies from the new worlds back to Sol.

Either way it makes earth less fucked and more just slightly inconvienced, but they could bounce back, because the gate is literally right there and all the gates lead to right outside earth.

Why do the later books have 20 different POV characters now? Babylon's Ashes was such a pain in the ass to slog through cause every other chapter was some irrelevant character's navel gazing on current events while the plot of the story itself was only fit to fill like 10 chapters without all the excess padding.
