because max difficulty just upps the enemies numbers, they one shot me and I 400 shot them.
I don't feel like wasting large segments of my life to do tedious repetitive tasks so I can say I beat [insert game no one gives a fuck about] on the hardest difficulty.

very, very few games do higher difficulties right.

if the difficulty is just "enemies have more and hp and you do less damage" I just play on normal or whatever is the "intended" difficulty
though for D44M I played on ultra violence and it was pretty fun

If its a stealth game. Thats the one genre thats just plain unfun on the higher difficulties because playing well involves exploiting the enemies and waiting around. Theres no excitement or immersion when you play like that. I have no idea how other people do it.

Playing Persona 5 on hard mostly just felt like praying my MC doesn't get double critted every fifth or so battle where I can't wipe the enemies in four moves.

Most games are designed for braindead casual retards though so normal is not satisfying at all even if it is the intended way to play. Half the time it isn't though, it's just a renamed easy mode for people who get too insecure about picking the actual easy mode.

Civ 5. Difficulty gives enemies better AI I think, but they also start with more stuff. I think it's literally impossible to beat the AI to certain wonders in the early game if the difficulty is high enough.
