>insecure to start a new game with max difficulty
What's your excuse, casual?
I hate niggers
>god hand
fucking wrecks my shit on normal and I have an unhealthy obsession with clearing levels perfectly
>>377768583
>want to start on highest difficulty
>actual highest difficulty is locked until you beat the game once
because max difficulty just upps the enemies numbers, they one shot me and I 400 shot them.
I don't feel like wasting large segments of my life to do tedious repetitive tasks so I can say I beat [insert game no one gives a fuck about] on the hardest difficulty.
very, very few games do higher difficulties right.
Enough with the tanned Cirno threads, you fucking loser. We all see what you're doing.

This.
Luckily there is already a patch to untan her.
if the difficulty is just "enemies have more and hp and you do less damage" I just play on normal or whatever is the "intended" difficulty
though for D44M I played on ultra violence and it was pretty fun

Lack of knowledge of game mechanics.
Would you try working on an oil rig or at a superstore after doing NEET-level computer programming for five-ten years?
If its a stealth game. Thats the one genre thats just plain unfun on the higher difficulties because playing well involves exploiting the enemies and waiting around. Theres no excitement or immersion when you play like that. I have no idea how other people do it.

Playing Persona 5 on hard mostly just felt like praying my MC doesn't get double critted every fifth or so battle where I can't wipe the enemies in four moves.

Don't have time and care to tryhard singleplayer games anymore. I got a job and uni.
I play games for fun.
There's little fun for me in attempting a game I know nothing about on the highest difficulty setting while I still don't understand the mechanics.

many of those are specifically designed for people who already have played the game, with enemies from late in the game appearing early, and requiring skills you don't learn until later on.
I play games on normal because that's what the game is designed around usually
>>377768583
Hardest difficulty doesn't unlock until I beat Hard, which doesn't unlock until I beat NormalEasy has an unlockable that only can be earned if the game is cleared on said difficulty
>>377773443
Most games are designed for braindead casual retards though so normal is not satisfying at all even if it is the intended way to play. Half the time it isn't though, it's just a renamed easy mode for people who get too insecure about picking the actual easy mode.
>>377768583
I-I just have to get used to it! It's to test the w-waters!

>Max difficulty triples enemy health and damage and does nothing else

Come on, you and I both know you want more than just your sister's tip.

Well, for one thing, I'm not a nerd with a superiority complex thinking he's hot shit for playing on the hardest difficulty.
>hard mode
>either turns enemies into sponges and you into glass or just turns everything into glass
I can't think of a single game where difficulty actually improved the enemy behavior instead of stats.
>>377775672
Civ 5. Difficulty gives enemies better AI I think, but they also start with more stuff. I think it's literally impossible to beat the AI to certain wonders in the early game if the difficulty is high enough.

>look at me guys I'm so hardcore, I play touhou on LUNATIC!!!
Looks like you need to be taken down a notch.

Typical mentality of a casual shitter. Doesn't bother them that they're shit and no motivation to get better.
i'm not very good at videogames

I play games for stress relief, not to turn it into a rage fest cause I'm getting ganked by low tier fodder.
