Tried it when it became free. Game was boring as fuck. It's hide and seek. Whole lot of just running around the map chasing tracks and stuff. The movement isn't even fun either so it's not like you're really trying to go super fast or anything because it's just sprint and jet packs. Combat itself is also not mechanically engaging at all. Your target is a fuckhuge monster. Kinda hard to miss. It's more about just avoiding his attacks and using your abilities. But it's just so boring.

Idk atleast if you played VS in left 4 dead you were actually still shooting zombies and stuff even if you weren't trying to kill an enemy special infected. Not just running around chasing the special infected all game. That and it was 4v4 endurance to see who could get further and it was much more balanced and enjoyable for everyone playing.

Evolved unfortunately is just a really flawed concept that wasn't done well. Dead by Daylight and Friday the 13th are much better assymetrical multiplayer games.

Siege fanboys are the literal worst. The game takes next to no skill to play because of how bad the peeker's advantage, netcode and serveres are.

The meta right now is rush in as att as ash (and have a glaz to get some easy kills), and jager/bandit/valk spawn kill. Ranks above gold means you're going to play against someone with 150+ ping, which gives them a full second of peekers advantage. Not to mention every gun except the shotgun can instant kill headshot from any distance.

Siege is to make people who suck at fps games pretend they're playing a tactical "realistic" shooter that requires strategy when in reality the game takes the same amount of skill as CoD.

Aiming at a giant monster is easy to do. Avoiding super telegraphed attacks are easy to do. Following indicators to know where the monster is is easy. It's all easy. The only thing that was somewhat challenging was playing the monster. It's also the only fun part of the game, but even then it isn't that fun.

The game is a fuck ton of running around trying to land a dome on the monster. And then spamming abilities and gunfire into his hugeass. Sorry but the concept of fighting a giant monster 4v1 seems like it'd be interesting, but it's actually really flawed and shitty. And is usually boring for everyone win or lose. People whine about muh DLC but when the game went F2P it was the same shit every time:
run behind the monster for 5 minutes, fight, run behind him again, fight, win or lose

Sure you can boil down a lot of games to such a simplistic level but the problem is the vast majority of time you're just running behind the monster waiting for him to fuck up or turn and fight you.

It was even worse before it went F2P because only 1 person (the trapper) could use the dome and it was possible to miss with the dome, creating situations where your retard trapper could single handedly ruin the match causing you to waste 20 minutes running hopelessly behind the monster until you lose. Plus the balance was shit, just ask people about the wraith or the kraken and they'll have endless horror stories about getting killed by stage 1 monsters the second they drop out of the dropship.

I don't buy the whole 'multiplayer only' thing either, do people really need a half assed 4-6 hour scripted campaign to justify their $60 games? I guarantee you could get more play time out of evolve than something like order 1886 but very few people would bat an eye at the thought of paying $60 for a short, heavily scripted game like that with no replayability because there's no DLC and no season pass.

There's no strategy involved in seeing a clue where the monster went and then splitting up to cut him off. There's nothing intelligent about doing that, it's fucking common ass logic you could find in a fucking nintendoland game. It's braindead chasing the monster around trying to cut him off.

And yeah you move and shoot in a lot of games. But in most games it's enjoyable because aiming and shooting and moving around actually takes mechanical skill. Like I said this is just mindlessly sprinting and jet packing around while you aim at a giant fucking monster.

I will say the ONLY fun I ever had with the game was either as the monster, even though that was usually boring as fuck. And playing as the punching chick in the mech who did more damage so long as she didn't whiff a punch. Outside of that I usually had to take a nap after I played because it was that fucking mind numbing.

I don't know how you can convince me this game can be enjoyable. I wanted it to be but it seems like you don't actually have any reasons since you already can't dispute any of what i say with actual examples of how im.wrong or how I didn't play it right. I'd like to understand how someone can have fun playing this shit, but it's sucked since alpha. Game was never fun, and I gave it a ton of chances since I wanted it to be good.

The game isn't a fucking boss fight most the time. It's a game where you "hunt" the monster by trying to find where he is and doming him. How do you do that? You chase him around and hope your tracker can help find him. You run after him and "look for clues" AKA giant glowing notifications the pop up on the screen letting you know where the monster is.

When it is a boss fight, it's a fucking shit one. The monsters moves are generally easy to avoid. And so long as everyone does their super arbitrary jobs of tanking and healing and shooting, it's fucking easy as shit to win. Like I said you essentially just look at the monster and hold left click and spam your abilities. There is NO mechanical skill involved whatsoever. There is some small amount of strategic skill, but even that is shallow as fuck and easy to comprehend and "master"

Exactly, it can sometimes be fun to juke the hunters as the monster. Maybe scare some birds and then creep away while they go to investigate. But the vast majority of the time you're just sprinting away from them trying to get as much distance as you can so you can eat and grow to stage 3. And that's just fucking boring for both sides. Then you finally go to fight them and just spam abilities. Kill the healer first. Then the dps. Then just finish the other 2. So much strategic depth. Aiming fuckhuge aoe attacks is so hard to do.

The fights can sometimes be a bit fun. But in all honesty the fighting isn't even that great. Definitely not worth the 10+ minutes of chasing the monster around the map/running away from the hunters.

There were so many things wrong with Evolve I don't even know where to start ffs. After a 100 hours of gameplay you're basically a top 5% player because the game is so fucking shallow and requires little to no effort, it was unbalanced and heavily sided towards survivors and the map balance was fucking awful, to deal with a competent monster player you just pick a round and tall column, and slide up and down it like a cheap poledancer whilst saving jetpack for the double tap to get out of a tight spot. AND THEN there was the shitty community of like 500 regular players who the top 5% that still played since the original launch were hacking faggots who all covered for each other (including TRS because they dont want to ban their only fucking playerbase) and to top it all off, with the re-release f2p graphic they stripped the game of maps and monsters to make shitty game modes (That bs meteor map and the perks one) and didn't bother balancing or releasing any interesting crap. Your game is shit and deserved to die.
