Damn people, do a little research. They weren't developed for kids with ADD. The first ones were made for stupid rich business men to have a toy to play with at their desk or in meetings. Take a look. They started become more popular after high end spinning tops starting gaining traction again. 5 months ago you couldn't buy one for less than around $250 bucks. Some of the better made ones were going for $800 and up easy. Then plastic ones started to appear for hte $80 price range and eventually people were 3d printing them. China got word and bam. Instantly there are 1000's of them being mass produced and selling for pennies on the dollar. Now they are everywhere. The high end ones still will run you around $200 though. Various rare metals and better bearings. Shit, I have tops that are $300 and up as well.
