Colourful Doom is good for enemy variation, and if you combine it with Russian Overkill the bullshit really starts to ramp up.

There's several weapons on each slot, so I guess it's to cut back on clutter. I do agree it's annoying though. Not everyone uses a mousewheel.

As weird as it is, the Holy Water Pistol and Fire Extinguisher also go in the Shotgun and SSG slots respectively. Quite a bit of weapon juggling to do.
