Spellforce, a bit different (every item one slot) But amount of them and to equip each of your followers accordingly is ultimate comfy, not to mention base building. It is a really gem of a game, especially if you like Tolkien.

PlanetSide 1. The cool thing was that you could save an inventory loadout for the vehicles you spawned. So, instead of just maxing it out with ammo for the vehicle's turrets, you could stock the trunk with extra items and supplies for you and your squad when you're on foot.

Multiply this by 5 summons apart from you, with mage, black, mage, white mage, archer, 2h warrior, 1h warrior, and with building slots for each race (humans, elfs, dwarfs, dark elves, orc and trolls) with hefty magic system all based on dropped items, and you are getting a lot of comfy tinkering with items

I'll never understand why developers who make this kind of inventory system rarely implement a system where you can rotate the items.
