This back and forth tug of war from the fans is a serious problem. Many want the game to be longer, perhaps like the original, but some understand that speedrunning and replayability is where the series could seriously shine.

Can't do the latter with the design of the former. I think that's why they just stopped making shit at Hypno Baron's Castle (little realizing that the mandatory fetchquests ruin that completely).
