Its not just making up for the Wii U, the margins on the switch itself are relatively small costing a little over $250 per switch they make. Nintendo is making up for it by leaving out expected hardware like an ethernet port and overcharging for other hardware. The switch pro controller is the best example of this costing $70 when the standard price for controllers since last gen has been $50-$60.

In terms of overall quality, a hacked 3ds with a flashcart can run every portalble nintendo console ever made in addition to S/NES , some sega whateverware and 3DS titles ofc.

Only hardware, not counting at all what it can do.
My 3DS has its lower screen's edge scratching the top screen, A button slightly more sunken in from regular MK7 playing, hinge fairly loose (wiggles back and forth audibly from moving the system) and just being glossy is a huge mistake.

GBA is A+, though I never found out if it had really easily broken shoulder buttons or I just played too roughly/had them pressed too long in case.

No. USB-c has most of this stuff built in. The chip is an inch by and inch, and is nothing more than a pass-through for what USB-c was already capable of doing. It even uses USB-PD inside of itself to adapt the wallwart, which is why that wallwart should never be used with anything else USB-c because it doesn't fit any other standards.
