Prize doesn't matter, the brand and build quality does. There's a reason your 60$ keyboard with knock-off chinese switches is so cheap.

Get a quality one, and it'll generally last longer and have better build quality.

I think it depends on the genre. I would rather use Mouse and Keyboard for First Person, but in the Third Person Controllers are king unless you're playing something where you need a keyboard and mouse for all the actions you can take, like in an MMO.
