Lightning Returns was painful. Lightning is hot but I'm not happy with the way they've dolled her up over time.

FFXIII was designed to be a babies first JRPG. Hence the lack of exploration or any side activities. It was capitalizing on the movie game craze with Uncharted and Call of Duty.

Also it's not multiplat. The 360 version is so bad it might as well not count. One of a few examples where the 360's complete and utter shittiness was shown.

I rember there being an interview or article before 13's release where the team said they "Wanted to appeal to more than just the fans of the series."
And anytime a developers make that decision you can expect the game to be bogged down for casuals and normies so they don't have to overwork their brains.

No. And it's even worse for me because after the initial trailer dropped in 2006, I was so fucking eager for it to come out and was telling everybody to check it out.

But I was comply disappointed when I actually got my hands on it. The characters and the story were absolute garbage. I never even finished FF13 and have zero desire to. Not to mention, I have no idea what retard at SE decided it was a good idea to shove one of the worst FF protagonists down everybody's throat.

Better than XV.

I hated XIII at first but played it again recently and from about mid way on the boss battles are probably some of the most balanced and challenging in a mainline FF game. The inability to grind beyond a certain point helped with that.

I always enjoyed XIII-2 and LR, although on replay LR wasn't as good as I remembered.

13 was alright. I think its biggest flaw was its length. If they cut down on the fluff the linear shit wouldn't have been so grating. Also the combat was top notch.
Too bad 13-2 dumbed down the combat and made it look up a guide or grind monsters, shat on the lore/story, tried to appeal to people that didn't give a shit about the original, and had DLC cancer. Can't believe people said 13-2 was better at anything.
