What are good "walking simulator" games?
Immersive environments, riveting story, good visuals.
Just finished Fire Watch and The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, I need more. I'm addicted.
Are they considered good games here on /v/?

The Long Dark is legit the best walking sim if you don't mind dying of hypothermia in a blizard or being eaten by wolves and bears or starving.

I thought the story hadn't come out yet?
I liked it but I like story driven more than survival.

is that the underwater one?
SOMA and What Remains Of Edith Finch are incredible

Never played The Vanishing, but Fire Watch was fucking awful. All that buildup for literally no payoff whatsoever. I didn't even pay money for it and I still felt ripped off. I wouldn't have even minded if the whole damn thing was just comfy business as usual, but the bait in switch really pissed me off.

I thought it was a really meaningful message about escapism. The whole summer he was escaping his life, in this wild ride fantasy that's probably the most exciting events in his life, but it doesn't change the important things going on outside. Almost like a metaphor for video games.
Just like in real life,You never get the girl
