I remember lurking early vita hacking threads but decided to wait cause I wasn't sure if the upcoming Rabi-Ribi vita edition were going to require a firmware update before the Vita was fully blown open.
It has been one year and Rabi-Ribi for Vita is nowhere to be seen. Pure radio silence. I was pretty fucking stoked for it too. I'm mad.

It had bad framerate, but it was pretty much fixed with the 1.08 patch released after that.

You can also OC the vita with a plugin to get rid of the minro framerate drops that still remain.

Because I don't own one. I did hack my PSTV though.

Played everything I cared about and now it's collecting dust. Not much else you can do until there's an exploit for newer firmwares.

I did, but it was barely worth it. Only played Persona 4 which wasn't great, half of Dragon's Crown, and Digimon Story: Cyber Slueth. I guess there's still Yomawari but everything else is either uninteresting or has been ported to PS4 or PC. Wasn't the best purchase I've ever made.

Why would you buy a handheld if you dont appreciate portability?

Sure, it shares A LOT of games with PC and PS4, but you cant take the PS4 and PC with you while you can take the Vita with you, you know, the whole puropose of a handheld console.

IIRC Borderlands bundle comes with 3.30 fw and the latest 2000 models released in NA and EU come with 3.50 fw or 3.55 fw.

Japan still gets Vitas produced so they get latest fw.

I just sold a 3.60 Vita on eBay for $300. People are getting desperate, it seems. I'll give you a hot tip if you have some cash in the bank; go and check out small stores that take in used Vitas. I went to Goodwill a few weeks back and they were selling them for $50 a pop and the guy let me check each one to make sure it was "updated." Each one was at 3.60 or under. Because I never bought one...or any other handheld. Once I bought my first tablet, there was no competition for handheld. Unlimited books, magazine, manga, internet, movies/tv shows, etc. Gaming I do at home. Portable belongs to the samsung.
