I recently fell for the Bloodborne meme and I just killed the Hemwick witch. Does the game get better than this? It's fun and all but not the 10/10 GOTYAY NEVER EVER shitposting material it's often claimed to be.

My biggest problem is that guns are rather useless besides for trying to get Visceral attacks in and the 5 second delay before a dodge. I don't recall it being that bad in Dark Souls.

Shit gets pretty wacky after Byrgenwirth. If you don't stick around long after that you should just drop it. You can upgrade your weapons with runes after the witches though if that makes any difference

that was my opinion at first, but after beating the game and all the DLC you really start to appreciate it. the early bosses are pretty weak. guns aren't really meant to do damage until you get the cannon or evelyn later in the game, and those need heavy stat investment to use.
