I really wanted to enjoy it, but it's as frustrating as RS1 for me.

The only matches I won was when I was in a server with everyone on mic.

Otherwise it was spawn, walk 20 cm and get headshotted by someone you couldn't see simulator.

Couldn't be more wrong. Battlefield has a completely different pacing to RS2. Weapons in this game behave like weapons in real life do - meaning that even a single bullet is enough to stop you in your tracks and force you to bandage yourself or kill you, if you're unlucky. This encourages tactical and methodical behavior from each individual player, which in turn creates combat encounters that mimic actual war a lot better than Battlefield ever could with it's gimped weapons.

Battlefield is just too videogamey to deliver the warfare fantasy to the extent that Any RO or RS games do.

I was more talking about the gameplay feel, as in movement, shooting, using equipment and so on. This manages to feel worse than the 7 year old BFBC2:Vietnam in that regard, and that game doesn't even have diagonal sprinting or vaulting. This feels like it actually tries in that regard, but failed horribly. Now you could argue that these flaws are offset by the depth provided by the game, but I'm not really seeing those depth advantages. Rather go for something like PR or Squad instead if you want to go in that direction, instead of this half-assed mix

The SKS is really nice. The PPSh can be incredible on semi.
Sapper and RPG are my go-to classes as the Viet right now.
M89 mines are a load of fun, placing them around objectives, in trenches, and on stairways.
I feel like the RPG travels a little too fast, but it makes taking down choppers a bit easier.
If I have to go machine gunner, I prefer the DP-28.

The UI is pretty shit as a new player, especially if you inherit the SL role. Spotting isn't clear, the squad menus suck, newbie shit like the T menu should probably be on by default, trying to build a tunnel is frustrating because of all the places you can't build and it's a lot of trial and error until you find a good place that other people haven't built.

Being SL isn't hard, it just requires a tiny bit of extra awareness. Just remember your primary job is to mark shit and be a respawn point. You should never be the first one to charge in.

Being TL isn't that much harder, but you really should have a mic. If your team is making a big push, use Ho Chi Min Trail. If you see a lot of people waiting on respawn at once, hit Rapid Deployment. Aside from that, just use good arty marks and try to do it either behind objectives or on objectives that your team wont reach until the barrage is done. Yes, you will probably catch one or two dumb lemmings in your arty strike but as long as you aren't wiping out 4+ of your own guys, then thats on them.
