Depends on why you didn't like the first one. There's definitely a lot of improvements, but a lot of the first one's problems are also still there. Combat is still largely about stamina management and the PQs are still tedious as hell.

It's pretty similar. You go to the same DBZ moments and they're changed somehow. Now it has the added novelty of throwing in the movie villains who are supposed to have been taken out of alternate timelines by Towa in order to fuck things up further. I still liked the story of the first one more, though.

I don't think anything will top Legacy of Goku 1 and Sagas.

It's worth noting that the character you made in the first game carries over to this one, but is a separate character. I was shocked to see it.
