Dark Souls and Bloodborne are the greatest video games ever made

Dark Souls is probably my favorite game. It's still very hard to agree with this guy.

Bloodborne is my third favorite in the series.

I wouldn't say either are really in the conversation for greatest game ever made though. Maybe in a decade Dark Souls can enter the conversation of potential top 10. I'd say it's in the top 25. It's just too early.

I'm the same way, whats your second favorite in the series? Mine's Demons Souls.

Why do you feel this way, OP? Is it because of the challenge? The setting? Something else? What do other video games lack when compared to Dark Souls/Bloodborne?

I love Das and BB but I don't like hearing people say "X is the greatest EVER"..... but I think I prefer to hear this about a semi recent game rather then "Crono trigger and mario world are the best ever".... I like retos too but none of them are the best ever....

But then again so many games I leave unfinished.

Maybe Das or FF7 is really the best ever, I finished them more then once.

I think they're all good games and all worth playing. The only game I was initially upset about was vanilla DaSII but upon playing through SotFS a few times it changed my opinion on the game and now I'm pretty fond of it.

Dark Souls III is still an 8.5/10 to me, just to clarify that since it's last doesn't mean I think it's a bad game.

Also, of all the games I think DaS is the black sheep. It's the only game without a central hub you need to warp to to level up/shop/smith etc. I also believe that the second half of Dark Souls is fantastic. I think the idea that it's bad is a meme. Also, it's not the second half, in terms of playtime it's more like the last third.
