Crash and Cortex's character were changed for the worst, Crash was no longer a cheeky cunt but a retard and Cortex was no longer a sinister villain but a flamboyant Dexter.
Twinsanity was the game that added all the shit that would lead to Crash's downfall, the open level design changed it from traditional crash corridor level design to shitty open world collectathon bs, crash being retarded, cortex being flamboyant, Nina Cortex and the School of Evil, random animal characters that dont make sense to the series cause 100% of the characters up until that point were created by Cortex and Brio
no Twinsanity was not the peak, it was the final seed for the tree of failure
Twinsanity does have 1 think going for it though, an awesome and probably debatable best Dingodile boss fight
