So pretty much everyone agrees this looks good right?

I have a friend who's really gay and is upset by how a 2017 hd crash looks. He doesn't know why(probably because he has his nostalgia glasses on for the ps) but he says that this crash looks bad and that they could've done a better job.

If I ask him what he means by that he simply says "they could have just made it better" and that's all he'll say some other crap but basically it all just echoes his feelings of it doesn't look right.

Any opinion?

That was another point I made to him. When crash was originally designed it wasn't just out of thin air. There were restrictions made by the ps1 that limited what his design could be and because of that he had to look all flat and pointy with practically no detail.

I told him that it would only make sense for him to look different since now there can actually be fur and more details rendered on him instead of just a plastic look. He said that was a cheap response

The only thing that really bothers me is the lighting, and even then it looks great in a lot of the levels they've shown. I just think it makes some parts look a lot "cleaner" than they used to. Aside from that losing some of the more memorable sounds like obj_motherfucker's death screams and ripper roo's old screams is a shame but nothing I'm really upset over.

Its that classic ps1 look most 3d games on it had, it's hard to explain but I'd say lighting back then was a lot less pronounced which kind of brought out the colors more. Now it just looks watered down, although I can't really blame the devs since it is not an easy look to emulate these days and honestly they have to cater to every single gripe us nostalgiafags might have with the game.

Because E3 is coming up. Crash has featured in Sony's last 2 big conferences (E3 2016 and PSX) there is no way he won't feature there and they'll want a big announcement with the game a fortnight released 2 weeks later.

Warped gameplay footage and the demo being put on PSN with a level from all 3 games fits the bill.
