>tfw you're g400s finally bites the dust, and it's discontinued, and all of logitech's new mice look like shit

What's a good replacement? It needs to have 400 dpi. Obviously it needs to be wired too. I don't really care about programmable buttons
>>
I've heard that the g403 is a good replacement. I don't use one personally though because I'm on year 7 of my mx518.
>>
>>377432754
It almost looks decent, but that scroll wheel gave me cancer. I need my scroll wheels to click.
>>
>>377431613

Is there a mouse that is g400 or very close but with about 6 more buttons?
>>
the g502 looks over the top but it's pretty good
>>

Are you retarded?
>>
The g403 is pretty much just as good. For cheaper I've heard the g203 is actually pretty phenomenal.
>>
>>377431613
g502
>>
aw craps i have the same mouse? They discontinued it? I should have bought five.
>>
>retards playing a wired mouse

enjoy your inaccuracies whenever you push the mouse forward.

also enjoy living on borrowed time, hope that little cord doesnt disconnect slightly and completely bricking your mouse at the slightest pressure
>>
>>377432754
I got a g403 to replace my g400s and I really just wish I still had my g400s.
The cord is nice in terms of durability but it's heavy and has a lot of friction with most surfaces. The shape of it isn't quite as nice. It doesn't have that nice coating like the g400s did. It has a removable weight so you can have it heavier or lighter but you can feel the weight rattling around inside when it's in.
>>
>>377433681
502 is a straight upgrade, that's why
>>
>>377433705
>enjoy your inaccuracies whenever you push the mouse forward.

I have no idea what you're talking about. Cords weigh nothing.

>also enjoy living on borrowed time, hope that little cord doesnt disconnect slightly and completely bricking your mouse at the slightest pressure

I've only had that happen once in my life, and you can just open it up and fix it. You enjoy your massive amount of lag that's impossible to compensate for though.

What's the problem with it? The G400 series is infamous for having shitty USB cords, if that's giving you issues then it's a quick and easy replacement.

g400s had wiring issues up the ass nerd.

It has way to many buttons, and a shitty scroll wheel. You're on crack.

Just get a G502 anon. It looks like shit but my G500 shat the bed and I needed a replacement so went with the 502. It's just as bueno, except looks edgy.
>>
>>377434174
It keeps skipping out every 3-10 seconds. It won't register clicks or movement when it skips out. I guess it could be the cord though. I'll try replacing it.
>>
Not OP, but has anyone tried this?

If you can flick it and it keeps going, then it's shit. Also, if it bumps, instead of clicks.

This, my default dpi is 3800, I don't change it for anything.

They don't though

Only if you unlock it, which no one would ever do.
>>

No, you just have to move your hand more. It's only like 8 inches of movement to cross the screen from corner to corner.
>>

That one actually looks alright. I'm gonna have to check the scroll wheel though.

I had two of the previous models, and both of them got button problems. After about 8 months of use, the right click became unresponsive. itt: retards
DPI hardly matters when you're using your arm to move your mouse, and not your wrist, like a carpal tunnel syndrome'd retard
400 is absolutely ez pz to deal with if you have this kind of setup, you need a big mousepad to truly juice out the best out of your mouse
400-800 is where most people play at for fps games, other games usually sit at 1000-1600
anything above is retardation, because the pixelskipping becomes unbearable and you're not even using your arm anymore, just your wrist joints that will be completely fucked after a while
>>
>>377436095
>>377436126
I broke both of these. When my laptop mice would fuck up, I'd start unplugging my desktop mouse and using it on the laptop for when I went to bed. The wear and tear of constantly doing that and also bumping the connector into shit destroyed both these mice. I probably could have fixed them, but now I got a G400s and I banned myself from ever using it on a laptop, I'll just use the fucking touch pad and order a new cheap mouse for the laptop right away. Anyway, I've now had the G400s for years and there's no reason for it to break, but I am worried for when it does, like OP does.
>>
>>377436223
i use 450, you'd know it that such a low dpi isn't actually a big deal given the big mousemat\space shit you should have, but you're a wrist-aim faggot and you can't even turn 180° without raising your mouse 6-7 times with such DPI
kill yourself, faggot
>>
>>377436359
No, I use my arm to move the mouse, 450DPI is still too low
>>
>>377436126
On mine the fucking right mouse button switch got fucked, when I held the button it would switch between button down and up, I did the "fix" with putting some tape on it, that helped for a while then it started going wonky again.
Funny enough, while my first Razer diamondback had a broken cable after a year or so, the Razer Pro click I got later (which is the same mouse), still works perfectly, despite rolling up the cable for use with my laptop very often, just the white plastic is going ugly yellow. Got a G602 now, no problems with it being wireless.
>>
>>377436246
The main point of using 800 dpi is because if you go up to 1600 dpi, there are some games where even sensitivity set to 1 is too high. And you're right, too many retards play at super high sensitivity and they usually suck. My aim got better right away as soon as I dropped my sensitivity to 1/3 of what it was before. Precise aim with wrist, turn character around with arm.

It's an absolute beast, perfect tracking, optic godlike sensor, best DPI settings (50-6500), six buttons, dpi switch with two settings, two lateral buttons and fancy sidegrips that work very well with palm and fingertip grips.
I got this literally three days ago and it's absolute perfection.
All of that for just 50 dollars.
There are definitely better mice around, but this is probably one of the best out there in terms of what you get for the price.

This is the standard with many competitive players.
In the end, on most games it depends if the sens calculations are done well and not just half assed, since at least in Overwatch 400 dpi and 7.5 sens is the same as 800 dpi and 3.5 sens, so whatever kind of settings you use it's just your personal choice for your desktop experience.

I'm currently using the G203 which is the new version. Super simple / straight-forward mouse but it has all the precision and quality of a $100 gaming mouse. My ONLY complaint is that it's pretty light and there's no way to make it heavier. But it's top notch regardless. G203. Check it out.
>>
>>377436908
Yeah, I never go by DPI or sensitivity. I always keep DPI at 800 and do a quick measurement for how far I need to go to do a 360. Probably autistic, but it's worth it. Aiming down sights is different for each game, though. I just let the games do whatever they want there. It's usually better anyway, it's only giving you more accuracy at range by lowering the sensitivity in ADS, but sometimes I find myself fucking up if I'm ADS and trying to track a closer enemy. It's much faster in BF1 while it's slower in Rainbow Six. Both let you adjust ADS sensitivity, but fuck it. Good enough.
>>

DPI does very little to change aim. I agree that high sensitivity is really gay, but I think this "pixel skipping" thing is made up. I use 800 DPI, but I'm pretty sure someone using 1600 DPI in their mouse settings and half my sensitivity in-game would get almost the same result. So like in Overwatch, my sensitivity would be 10 and theirs would be 5 or something and be almost the same.

I can't tell the difference between it and wired mice, whatever they've done with it is magic.

It's also incredibly light and I enjoy not having the wire.

Only downside is it's expensive. But you shouldn't rule out wireless mice now, the latency is so low that the sensor feels exactly the same as a Zowie FK1 wired mouse to me.
>>
You guys are turbo-autists. Your DPI, Windows sensitivity, and in-game sensitivity contribute to the final sensitivity. Arguing about DPI is fucking stupid, argue about centimeters/inches per 360.
But yeah, if you're turning around with your wrist, you suck shit at FPS games and are constantly missing more than you should be when things get hectic.

I have a suggestion.
Do you have a thick leather belt of some kind, some rubbing alcohol, and some cloves?
>>
>>377439071
I don't want to fight you or tell you to kill yourself, I want you to consider lowering your sensitivity and see that you might even be better than you think. I've been PC gayman for 20 years and only just last year did I finally lower my sensitivity and realize how much better I got. It was awkward at first, I would try to still use my wrist and it would end up at a weird angle and shit. But within a week or less of that shit, my aim improved and I became a better player. Just consider it, it's not that hard to get used to and you'll start to realize you can move your arm almost as fast as you could move your wrist. Maybe a little slower, but the added accuracy makes it worth it.

Clean the area with rubbing alcohol. If you crush up some cloves in some water, the liquid makes a mild topical anesthetic in my experience - it works for mild tooth and oral pain, but, I'm not positive if it'll work for this application, so the belt is crucial. You bite down on the belt, and, if luck is on your side, you won't bite and swallow your tongue.

Make sure you clean the area with rubbing alcohol. Because an infection would hurt severely.

Then I would recommend cutting it out with something really sharp. Make sure you disinfect that knife or razor blade extremely well.

When was your last tetanus shot?

G600S

Has all those "MMO" buttons on the side but its godlike.
>>
>>377439791
It was a long ass time ago. I'm going to go and get some liquor before I do this, I'm dreading this.
>>
>>377431613
I got a g602 after going through a bunch of other mice. Despite being wireless one of the best mice I had in years, had absolutely zero wireless detection issues.
>>
>>377440940
You're still getting input lag with anything wireless.
>>
>>377440627
Find me a hardware survey that showcases milliseconds of input lag.
It wouldn't surprise me if the USB2 hardware bus is a bigger chokepoint at 125hz.
>>
>>377433284
The shape took me some getting used to but it's seriously a good mouse.
>>
I've been using a Razor Deathadder, is there any reason to get any other mouse?

This mouse has lasted me a few years so I don't really mind, but I'm still looking for a new one. Not sure what to get yet though.

I have a monoprice gaming mouse

not even going to bother but even assuming you're right you're still paying a premium to not have a wire
>>
>get a G402
>it's sometimes all jittery and shit
I don't get it. My G400 was literally perfect. But this fucker will randomly start spazzing the fuck out until I correct it and I can't even really put my finger on it.

I'ts amazing, but razer shit stops working in no time. I had a deathadder and mamba, both choked after a year or two. Meanwhile my 2 logitech mice worked for about 8-10 years.

It's disgusting people still post about the Mx518 and G400 as though they were good mice.

The only reason the Mx518 is popular is because most people upgraded to it from a trackball, and the only reason the G400 is popular is because people mindlessly looked for a "replacement" for their shitty Mx518
>>
>>377442120
the g400 is fine though as long as you don't have a first gen one

>mfw that's totally accurate
Ater 14 years, my mx518 still stands strong thou.
>>
>>377442120
the mx518 is over a dozen years old. Of fucking course it doesn't hold up to todays technology.

It's still a solid $40 mouse that has been working for most people for close to a decade if not more.
>>
>>377441804

I bought mine used a year ago, it's never stopped working except for one of the buttons on the side was stuck since I got it
>>
>>377442882
It doesn't hold up to what technology? Because you know, mine still works, just like >>377442669 said. And i'm sure it'll work for another 14 years just fine. It's precise enough to play anything, i only replaced it because i wanted something new after 10 years or so.
>>
>>377442095
I use a G602, I've never noticed any latency with it. Wireless mice are pretty good these days.

Logitech really fucked up their gaming division. They had one job, affordable high quality mice, is that too much to ask? Fuckers discontinued every single product line I enjoyed from them what ever guess you don't want my money
