I don't know what climate you're in, but if it's just some temperate climate summer and not some hellhole you will probably have no trouble cooling a room at <1kWh. You should be able to survive with cooling a single room, especially since night time the AC won't be required and you're probably out/at work in the first half of the day so it doesn't need to run then either. My room is always hotter than the rest of my house. No matter what I do. If I have the AC on, if I have the windows open, if all of my electronics (besides the PC and monitor themselves) are off. If I have curtains up to block the sun; or have a box fan running. All of them combined or doubled up/etc. Nope. Always hotter.
