Exactly the fucking same here. Though I stopped playing because I started on one of the harder modes to keep it challenging and then found the androids fucking impossible to get past.

I disagree it was never the jump scares that scared in me in RE7.
I think what scared me the most was the real sense of danger that I hadn't felt in an RE game since RE 2.
On my first playthrough I died a lot in the first half for lack of ammo and not being accustomed to to playing VR.
Ever enemy felt like a real threat and The Bakers themselves are some of the most intimidating villains the series has had in ages.
