I don't get it. The aesthetics are there and the designs for the worlds look pretty interesting sans some of the more, "Modern," areas. Why do they move like they are stuck in water? Also, this is probably the worst trailer I've ever seen. I think it's trying to establish a certain weird, off-kilter mood, but it just look amateurish. Everything just looks disjointed (in a bad way), the scenes it's trying to show off as exciting and/or humorous are absolutely none of the above.

It looks like a bunch of assets thrown together and it's really fucking sad because I can tell they think they're coming up with something revolutionary.

I think what makes me sad is just how little these "earthbound clones" are. Earthbound was modest and knew what it was, a modern day sci fi dragon quest clone. It was silly but it had kind moments that really stuck out. It was subtle, and it worked.

I look at stuff like omori and knuckle sandwich and just don't see any appeal. I don't know who these even cater to.

Alot of older indie RPG's which say they where inspired by Earthbound usually keep the focus on surrealness and humor. OFF and LISA are a good example since you can tell which elements they focused on but did it in there own way. Meanwhile games such as Orori and Knuckle Sandwich just seem to try to focus on using Earthbounds Surrealness or Humor and not using there own.

This kind of makes me mad, not because of what it is, but because of what I feel like it could be. Poorly edited trailer aside (I mean, seriously), I'm liking some of the stuff here. That music is great, there's some interesting nuggets of creative art design in there, the enemy designs look fun and the overall look of the game is so close to being something reasonably okay. But the main party feels like a bunch of self inserts, the graphics actually kind of suck and don't work well with everything else going on, the voice acting is bland, the gameplay looks slow, and it's just kind of stupid in concept. Also, if you have to call your game "postmodern", it's not postmodern.

I liked that the game was a parody on the usual zombie invasion. It never got to the point where i just wanted the jokes. Also the fact that the voice for the average male MC was literally Yosuke from Persona 4, he really didn't try to make his voice different, so it was funny hearing Yosuke say all this crazy shit.
I really liked the way you maneuver around, sliding on wires and rails, running on walls, and hanging on cables while still shooting and blowing shit up.

True, the best thing about the game was how it encouraged you to keep momentum going as you jumped around, shooting and what not.
You got the feeling that kinetic spectacle was the life-blood of the game and it never stopped being good to get your amps full and see the often explosive results.
