Leaning is a stupid gimmick that is either so shit that your lower body is still exposed, or so slow, stiff and clunky that it isn't even viable to use in the game it's in.

Unless it's ARMA, fuck leaning and fuck prone.

with all the aim down sight button cancer in games i actually prefer contextual leaning

if you're at a corner and holding the ads button, you will automatically go into a lean mode which can be cancelled by not holding down the ads button
this system makes sense, and doesn't clog up the key bindings

This game is only fun if you're playing on Uber and chasing those rats down like the nazis they are, loudly slaughtering everyone. As a cover shooter its boring. Cover as a mechanic is boring, if you actually ask people if they enjoy cover who the fuck says yes? Its challening but the game gives you the tools you need to unleash hell.

The idea of leaning is nice it's just very hard to implement in a game because leaning in real life is so very different. In real life when you peak around a corner with your rifle exposing you don't automatically show half your fucking body aswell.

ARMA3 (possibly with the Enhanced Movement System mod, I'm not entirely sure) handled this beautifully. You not only had the option to toggle or hold lean, you even had several leaning options that increased or decreased how much of your body you exposed.

Indeed. By default, no movement mods, nine elevation postures and two types of lean that can be combined.

>Lying on side (can shift to either far side)

Still, that kind of shit only works in a game like ARMA where things are very slow and there's excessive inaccuracy unless you are stationary and have your weapon secured. If it were any faster and stable on the move, nobody would bother with leaning.

I gave up playing that as soon as you escape the prison cell in the beginning.

I don't even know why the game felt so boring for me. I fucking loved every all the Riddick games, the first Darkness and TNO but I was bored out of my mind in Old Blood. Though I might have just been burned out of video games at the time. Is it really that good? Maybe I should give it another chance.

Yes the difference between Old Blood and New order is it only has one shitty boring mission and New Order has many. Its harder, has better enemy placement, and you generally get to shoot more nazis instead of one combat encounter followed by a cutscene or something.
