>Hate level at first
>End up loving it later on
What's her name?
>>377386507
grunty industries is worse than rusty bucket bay
>>377387675
Both are the best levels in their games
>>377387675
Rusty Bucket Bay was one of the most fun and memorable levels. Maybe you were too young when you played it but try going back to it now and you'll see.
Temple of the Ocean King.
>>377386507
Pretty much the tomb raidan levels in Thief 1.
>>377386507
i unironically miss when games looked like this
everything on the n64 has a weird grimy feel to it but i love it
>>377387913
Can't stand the bilinear smearing myself. Always try to take that shit off to get some crunchy pixels instead.
Any of the amusement park levels from Pacman World.
>>377388001
It looks worse without bilinear you half wit
Absolutely HATED Grunty Industries as a kid.
Now that I have a developed brain, I found it to be the best designed level in the game.
>>377388185
Ok. I'm not into mascot platformers, so I wouldn't know kiddo.
Finland in Dirt Rally. The excessive bumps and jumps and blind corners were annoying at first but you grow to love them once you get used to the call outs, driving, and roads.
Sandopolis in S3&K
Something just clicked with me over the years and now it's my favorite 2nd half of the game level.
>>377386507
Same thing happened with me and that level. Hated it the first time. but when I played it again and knew exactly what I needed to do, I really enjoyed it. I haven't played it in four years so I'll probably hate it when I go through it again.
>>377387720
Whoa, bud. How long has it been since you've played these games? You got them mixed up with Click Clock Wood and Witchyworld.
>>377387913
I know exactly what you mean. I have a thing for PSX/N64 era visuals.
I hated Cloud Cuckooland as a kid.And I still hate it today
I have developed an appreciation for the water temple of all things. Which actually seems pretty common, general opinion on that level seems to have turned around quite a bit.
>>377386507
OOT Forest Temple.
>Little me was scared to shit of that place
> got a bit older and less of a pansy then beat the game
>Loved the Forest temple.
>>377391736
People have had 19 years to learn in like the back of their hand, so of course general opinion has turned.

First time I played through that area with with two other friends and I was shit at Dark Souls since we just steam rolled everything. I got separated for half of Blighttown and boy I hated it, I kept dying again and again. We didn't go past Blighttown together though, I eventually created another character and played by myself, and I I liked Blighttown for the most part the second time. Except that area in the swamp with those toxic dart shooting fuckers. Killed a fuckload and they just kept coming. Got killed, came back, and they were all gone. Then I got mauled by fire dogs which never gave me any trouble in the upper part of town.

Sen's funhouse, the health and damage spike of the enemies is huge, now add all the traps on top. Also there are 2 tights spots that require really good timing.
>>377392321
it's a love-it or hate-it level for most people. i hated it too at first but it really grew on me during subsequent playthroughs and now i just love it. i enjoyed 5-1 and 5-2 in demon souls too. those levels really nailed the infested shithole atmosphere.
>>377386507
Dark Souls, I liked the Undead Asylum but goddamn Undead Burg looked so boring and awful the first time I tried passing, Skelletons were almost unbeatable and I couldn't even touch the ghosts, knowing I had to fight some lame ass undeads after the demon made me drop the game for a week.
It took me quite a few tries to get to the Minotaur, then the whole game opened to me, holy shit, haven't felt that way in more than a decade, the last game that made me grin like a retard was Super Mario 64. I had to keep going, killing undeads was easy as fuck and so fun that I even killed the merchant on my first run.
>>377392645
I played Demon's Souls for the first time two weeks ago. I didn't hate 5-1 and 5-2, but when I got to that swamp I was a bit overwhelmed because it was so huge and I had no idea which way to go. I ended up following a wall as best as I could until I found the right path and accidentally ended back up at the beginning (taking the bridge shortcut, so I didn't lose but a few minutes).
>>377386507
OOT Water Temple
The opposite for me is the Forest Temple.
>>377393156
To be fair OoT's dungeons are all very lackluster.
>>377393448
Oh I agree.
Personally I think the Oracle games and MM did the dungeons better.
>>377388117
Those levels are fine with the sole exception of Spin Dizzy.
Fuck that long-ass, slow as fuck level.
It was so long, thin, everywheregreenboringness.
But keep going faster through its corners changed my mind, it was long process though.
The Edge. It's a bittersweet thing. When I first fought him I couldn't wrap my head around it. He just shat on me constantly. Once you got his number the fight was amazing for a small time but it also meant that he was no longer challenging. It was all over in an instant.
>>377391462
No one blames you. That level was a gargantuan mess with nothing interesting in it beyond the surprise boss fight.
Couldn't stand this guys levels back in 08
Replayed the game later in 2011 and then again in 2015 and as long as I changed the music, they went from a 4/10 to 8/10. Best sanic game, amazing graphics.
This level is actually quite interesting.
Is one of the few parts in the game with some platforming and exploration, and the atmosphere is top notch.
I hated it because how slow the shotgun was and the layout was confusing, but now everytime I play BFD, is the first chapter I go to play.
Is not my favorite chapter, but It grew on me.
>>377391916
The equivalent in Demon's Soul was worse. But wait, you're saying you actually liked Blighttown?
>>377391462
No surprise there. It's shit.
I honestly can't believe they cut the Grunty's Keep level for time in order to finish that flaming mess instead.
>>377393448
>OoT's dungeons
>lackluster
pfft
Maybe the Master Quest versions. There's not a single OoT dungeon worse than the absolute best Wind Waker dungeon.
Then again Wind Waker is the worst Zelda so maybe it's not a fair comparison.
