true the controls could have been a lot better and the OPEN WORLD is mostly fuckin gay sewers and the first person was shit so you cant look around and the soundtrack got tiresome and would have been more fun to customize which you cannot. its too bad nobody has come close to even trying since then.

I have a confession. This game came bundled with my original Xbox. I played five minutes and hated it. I assumed it was some cheap shovel ware they included with the console so I literally threw it in the trash.

Then years later I see so many people praising it and I somewhat regret not giving it more of a chance.

A lot of the issues with Xbox emulation lie in the nForce chipset and the weird ways Intel did branch prediction (timing issues)
Understanding the MS emulator might actually help out with some of these issues, even if not to understand how the original hardware worked, but how MS abstracted it away.

Never know, might end up with an Xbox emulator in the end anyway...

I can play this game in sessions of a hour or so.

It gets really fun when u git gud at the boost mechanics. Runs usually take 20-40min. You probably did not learn them.
