Not saying they have to make it now or even make it all. I just think comparing it to Duke Nukem Forever is kind of dumb. DNF had a different history, different devs, is much less acclaimed and popular, and it's a different type of game and theme. I'm sure if Valve ever decided to make HL3, they wouldn't let something like DNF go through. Valve never really releases "bad" games, despite all the shit everyone (including me) gives them.

Because it will be. People say this not because they think it won't be good, but because they know no matter how perfect the game is, it will never live up to the expectations of the people who have been waiting over a decade for it. It is literally destined to fucking under perform. Anything short of euphoric perfection will be bashed, cast aside, and leave a permanent and VERY real tarnish on the history of the company.

Believe or not, companies don't make games because they love games. They do it because it makes them fucking money. A company won't do something that tanks their reputation.

What should he say? He got what he wanted. All your money, money from compendiums, and he doesn't even have to make new games, just pump out crates and shit. Single player games are nowhere near as profitable.
