It's not just influential, it's THE 3D GAME, the controls are great, the camera does it work, the pace, level design, length, the visuals are good, pretty updated but they are not an eye sore.

Sunshine was only good because it retained SM64's general controls, if it wasn't for that then it would have been a poor game. The level objectives were fucking terrible in comparison to 64 and there's a reason why collectathons died out. I'm fine with Mario having more open levels again (although the Galaxy game had a few open levels like the Honeyhive Galaxy or the Beach Bowl Galaxy as well as the linear ones) but they should make platforming the core focus of the game like it was in SM64 and Galaxy, rather than having you run around and do busywork like in Sunshine.

You have no idea of what you're talking about. Few Snes games were as praised as ALTTP. OOT got more praised than 64 and WW more than Sunshine. The Zelda series has always been more respected too.

Maybe you meant "more popular" which is a given since its concept is family friendly wheras Zelda is about long single player adventures.
