All my friends browse /g/, watch every tech conference and update their graphics cards yearly, literally. They are simply tech enthusiasts and they all have putrid taste in games because they initially choose their ''gaming'' platform by hardware and not actual fucking games which is the route you have also chosen.

Just got a new 1600X system. I upgraded from an i5-2500k. Thoughts so far:
+ IPC is noticeably better than sandy bridge, I'm getting better performance in things like Cemu and even Dolphin which were what I was most worried about.
+ Six cores and 12 threads is cool as fuck to have, and it's going to age like wine as DX12 and Vulkan are finally starting to adopt to multi-core systems.
+ Cheap as fuck, sold my old Intel + Nvidia system on ebay and had enough money to buy this one.
- Software bugs and quirks, like my RAM not being able to run 3200mhz like it's supposed to.
- These things are clocked to the max out of the box, you pretty much need watercooling and a lot of luck to get anything more out of the X series chips.

go sell all those shitty multiplats to gamestop so you can buy some of them back on PC where they're actually playable and dont shit all over the artists vision because of weak laptop hardware

Try Battlegrounds in case you have friends or Day of Infamy. Both are great shooters. Civ5 with DLCs is also a must-have PC game. Shadow Tactics Blades of the Shogun is a wonderful game that is overlooked by most PC gamers and Northgard isn't quite finished yet but it is already shpaing up to be a unique title. If you're looking fro games with an emphasis on coopertaion then Guns of Icarus online will be right up your alley. If you're even remotely interested in Total War games then I suggest you pick up Napoleon Total War. Finally, Fallout New Vegas isn't really a PC exclusive but it is much better on computers since it has mods.

These games will keep you occupied for a while.

This cost me 407usd, on a 240w psu I managed to overclock the card to a few mhz under 2ghz, so far I i get 60fps at 1080p on GTAV but I don't really play much to benchmark it, I think the passmark performancetest bench was 6800 on the GPU.

Vega is going to be $350-600ish, around the same price points as the 1070, 1080 and 1080ti

No one knows the performance yet, it will HAVE to be better price/performance than the 10 series though considering thats been out for a year now

My guess is that the lowest vega ($350-400) will be in between 1070 and 1080 performance, nvidia will drop prices accordingly then release volta later this year
