Plenty since he rarely covers anything above SNES gen games.

His humor was a lot better in his older videos. Not because what he was doing was a 'fresh' or 'new' thing, but because he was legitimately funny with breaking the fourth wall, his rage was a bit relatable in games as well as over the top in a funny (not cringy like it is now), and I feel he had a better grasp of the content and era of the games he was playing, especially in the NES era. He just knew how to create satire out of the realm he was most comfortable in, which is why videos like him going over Jason, Friday the 13th, and Ghostbusters were some of my favorite episodes.

I think James also got burned out of doing the same shit for awhile too. I want to like his avgn videos now but I'd be lying to myself if I thought they were as good as before

The best part about the '06 review was when he cuts himself off before repeating a cliche and then puts the game in.

He really had fun with the green screen on this one. I would've liked this episode more had he spent more time on it. He didn't even get to Shadow and Silver, and the ending was okay. Guess he only had so much time.
