Switch will have more to look forward to in the future but you can already play ton of games on the 3DS line. I guess it comes down to whether you're willing to wait for a while and you value power and performance.

If you like Zelda, Splatoon, Arms, Disgaea and/or Mario Kart, get a Switch. Otherwise, get the 2DS, hack it, and have a stupidly large library of fun games. You'd be missing out if you don't get both eventually, though.

But OP I have 3ds and a switch and go for the 3ds or I guess 2ds first. It has a lot of really good games and if you get the right version you can hack it and make it the best handheld to own. Hold off on the switch for now

3DS will probably be dead by the end of the year. If you can get your hands on a hackable one, do it otherwise go with Switch.
