I do a play through every year, but I put a lot of effort into each one. I pretty much write a character from birth to the starting point of New Vegas and go in with a clear mind towards who the character is and how they typically act in situations. But the key is that I don't plan ahead for the actual run. Whomever I side with happens organically as I play and no matter what character I make, I do as close to 100% of the game as possible for the run.

My longest one one was a Legion Frumentarii that fought by taking out enemies in directly with mines, traps, and silenced weapons. The short version of his backstory is that he was from New Reno and had extreme sexual trauma from his mother selling him to a mob boss' wife who kept him as a sexual plaything. His run lasted about 134~ hours, he did every possible quest and only openly betrayed the NCR and The Strip at the very end. On average each character lasts about 80 to 90 hours.

There's also the fact that the game have frame rate issues even with Nvidia cards. God have mercy on your poor soul if you have an AMD card.

My GTX 1060 broke and i tried playing the game with a RX 480. I was getting dips to early 20s fps in downtown Boston even with my Core I5 7600k 3200 mhz DDR4, god rays turned off, shadowboost installed and all the other ini tweaks recommended for AMD users.

I deleted that piece of shit and reinstalling New Vegas as we speak.

Favorite weapon setup?
I started a new game trying to go heavy weapons/explosive with demo/pyromaniac perks alongside crafting my own ammo/explosives.
I ended up using Hunting shotgun as my main weapon with handmade shells and dragon breath for fun and using either Flamer or grenade launcher for making a mess of everything, even more fun with bloody perk.

can't believe i wasted my first playthrough with sniper rifle + stealth, it's boring as shit compared to burning and exploding everything into bloody bits.
