I'd really like to play on PC. I played Destiny on PS3 and PS4; but none of my friends wanted to play with me, and that god fucking awful matchmaking (or rather, the nonexistent one) made it unbearable to try and do the raids, and PVP multiplayer was a fucking mess.

I just want to have a good fun FPSMMO-thing on PC to play with my friends since they all play there.

The first game was a very competent shooter and thats about it. its story was kinda shit, its hub world was shit, its loot and class system were nice but nothing to write home about. just about everything made this game nothing really special and hype behind that means its shit.
The fact that they are abandoning the 1st game and its 10 year project this early is a sign they knew 1 wasnt the best. The fact that they are continuing to support 1 gives me a lot of hope. The hope that 2 is much different from 1 is the only thing making me actually interested in this series. im actually excited but hesitant because the amount of polish and competency that is there could easily be overshadowed by big mistakes and shallowness

I quit the first game after about a month. Came back to it a month before Rise of Iron and was really impressed with everything they added with Taken King etc. King's Fall and Wrath were both pretty fun raid experiences. I am 'cautiously optimistic' they've brought a better vanilla experience for D2 but I will still probably hold off until those first two expansion packs are out.

Things I would like from D2

>Custom Strike Playlist that let's you select which strikes show up (maybe even let you select enemy faction too) and let's you select your own custom modifiers.

They definitely need "more". Its funny how little content they decided to add even to TTK and RoI.

Classes had only 3 active abilities, and nades were reused between elements. 1 raid per expansion, strikes had one bosses and had roughly the same wave based defense part at some point, engrams were an awful way to distribute loot in strikes. No siginificant content patches, just expansions which content runs out in a few days minus exotic quests. The idea of exotic quests is great but RNG on bounty turn ins is fucking retarded.

The playable spaces on planets is small and doesn't really make the game feel "massive" in any sense. Game didn't really have social or interactivity between players. The game was just not what it needed to be but people got suckered in for 3 years anyways

For what? It's going to be the same gameplay, no improvements. Same classes. And more DLC, the only reason they made destiny 2 so quickly is because they knew the time when the DLC would become obsolete.

Destiny was pretty fun, but it was also quite flawed, some of which were fixed by content updates but not everything.

The thing is, they've had 3 years to make this game, so I hope that was enough to realize what was wrong with the first game and fix it.

I want it to have a good story thats not told through cards, I want all lore to be able to be read through IN GAME, not on some website.

I also want more abilities for each class, having a super and a sorta different grenade/melee is all well and good but I want proper abilities, things like the running charge for titans is nice.
If each class can have like 4 proper abilities besides their ult that would be cool.

Also want more variety in sweet ass coats for my Warlock.

borderlands was more of a single player / co-op if you want game, but destiny was trying to be almost MMO-like with its open world with other players in it and the classic MMO dungeons / raids. and the less bullet spongy gameplay made a big difference to me, late game / NG+ borderlands was such a slog because of how much health everything had. it really turned me off of the game.

I played the fuck out of Destiny and am very excited for the Destiny 2 reveal.

This reveal will probably make or break my interest in Destiny 2.

I only got Destiny at TTK xpac and played through it all and RoI.
Very fun gun/gameplay and lootfarm game.
If 2 doesn't fix a lot of the issues I have with 1 I'll likely ignore 2.

I don't want guns stuck in there RoF/Impact archetypes.

Better enemy variety.
Their balance patches create too many 1-2 weapon metas and that's a big problem because it gets stale quickly.

Expand on Strike differences that they did in 1. (eg. Different enemy spawns like Taken versions) But too a more severe degree.

Basically give the game more ways to play and the grinding feel a little less repetitive since Destiny 1 was extremely repetitive.

Boderlands is a open world game based on multiple zones with hubs. like an mmo its based around going around doing the missions, picking up stuff and progressing through the story. Weapons tend to have massive varity leading to lots of trash and weapon swaping

Destiny is more or less based around a hub and some maps. Missions are linear driven within a bigger somewhat open map to force the objective. the open levels are just MMO trash objectives and not really quests with some world bosses. Its loot itself is less varried and generely each weapon type feels more like its own with less crossover.

Borderlands leveling system is just a basic mmo branch and as you progress the guns you will find will just end up being better, Skills are for the most part passives with stat boosts or modifiers

Destiny uses a loadout system where "using" an item or skill is what helps level it. Its skills tend to be more active and used to give players more playstyle, also works on a system of Sub classes similar to Support, Tank, Damange, PVE PVP arch types

All this stuff changes how the games play. For some people all they care about is the loot system and that makes it borderlands enough but calling it a clone or similar is like everyone calling every game Souls like when its not

Well Playstation owns the marketing rights, so no big surprise.

I'll be really surprised if the emote/call out system from Overwatch isn't brought over to this game. People were always mad about the dpad being so limited, its half the reason why destiny was flooded with emotes (some of which can be pretty damn useful).

I hope that patrols are expanded, factions are actually relevant this time with either faction wars or unique missions and quest, and that your aim isn't utter shit in the air
