Marie actually had a fun design and the premise of being an awkward poet/weathergirl was way more interesting than anyone else in P4. The problem is, she's not an actual part of the team. Her social link scenes weren't personal and had everyone coming along to treat her as if they're close friends already. If Marie was in the original PS2 cast and had a less shitty s.link I think people wouldn't hate her as much.
