Either way, you could argue that Nintendo was trying to move consoles. Right now, their consoles are in demand (for some inexplicable reason), so they aren't interested in cutting deals.

I'm not defending the practice, or anything, but it isn't like they cost more than the other colors. It's one of the reaasons I have no interest in the switch (40 bucks for the Pro Controller, and 50 for the Joycons is what I would find to be appropriate). I would sooner pick up an Xbox Elite controller with a warranty. At least I feel like I'm getting something for the money.
