Well, it comes out this year. It was supposed to come out last year if I remember right but they postponed it.
The new DLC give the game an engine update too, the same engine will be used in the sequel.

two worlds 2 is pretty cool, the world is fucking enormous too if youre into that.

I think they were really close to bankruptcy for a while. When TW2 came out they promised to implement dx11 support (and lots of other stuff) from the start and even sent out test builds to magazines. Never released it to the public.
The third game was planned too but it never came to fruition. Then there was Raven's Cry or whatever that got rushed out the door basically in an alpha state (their publisher is known to be major dicks). Game flopped hard and it almost killed them.
I believe this new expansion pack is them trying to get back on their feet but I suggest to keep your expectations low for now.

Modders released a fan expansion for the original game nearly around the same time the HD version of AoE II released. The modders formed up an LLC and got into business with Microsoft, ported over the mod, and ever since they've made expansions along with the studio currently maintaining the game.

If it weren't for the odd issues that appear every now and then during major updates, honestly I'd reckon AoE II got it lucky given the x-packs are pretty good quality.

God Hand is genuinely amazing and is only a testament to how critics often do not even bother with a game.
Two Worlds, both of them, are janky-ass RPGs through and through and mostly deserve the lukewarm and poor reviews, even though they can be fun.

This makes me very happy. The magic system was unique and pretty cool. Looked good too. This game did alot of cool stuff, and was just held down by certain mediocrities.

I hope the 3rd is good.

I cant believe this shit gets a DLC of all things, the only good thing about the game was the magic system.
