Look at your stats when selecting a kart. You will see the overall speed for that kart setup.

In order to achieve that, you need to collect coins. Going top speed should automatically be given, not something you have to work for. The coins should just give you bonus speed, like 110% as apposed to the original 100% speed. Instead, they don't. They let you go as fast as you should have gone originally. You have to do extra work just to achieve the setup you original had and that's total bullshit.

The blue shell should be changed to being a "chain attack". Like lightning, but not instantaneous, and doesn't force everyone to drop their items and become small, in exchange for longer spin-out time.

MK8 is probably the best/second best racing game of all time, up there with F-Zero GX. The only reason why people are uninterested in MK8D is because it's just MK8 on the Switch with pointless new battle modes.

Mario Kart 9 with the same, or better, map quality as Mario Kart 8, would be fucking fantastic. Mario Kart 8 has the most consistently good set of tracks, and continuing with that quality would guarantee a buy from me. I just hope they go with another style to distinguish it from MK8D or it'll begin to feel a bit like a rehash.

I mean, there is nothing wrong with complaining about blue shells. All there are are a huge middle finger to the person in first, and maybe second place. If I'm in a low place, I'd always prefer lightning to a blue shell, because that blue shell is just going to piss me and first place off.

Having it fuck up everyone on the way, homing into them, would make the super horn useful for anyone not in first, while also making it an item you like to see in 9th place.

I'd make Lightning an area-of-effect. Like it would be able to arc, so if everyone is pretty close then it would hit everyone. But if some fool in DEAD FUCKING LAST has it, I shouldn't have to suffer when I'm in fucking first (lose 3 coins, lose my items, shrink, lose all momentum, lose control), seriously though, fucking FUCK LIGHTNING. The coin is a necessary item. It means that 1st place could actually be stopped without needing to nuke them with 3 blue shells like what happened in MKWii. They, in return, reduced the amount of blue shells that spawned in every match. Lightning is far less common, and bullet bills are far more common.

You get one two items per lap. One every time you reach the finish line and one halfway through the race. The items are allocated based on your average performance in the race so far. This keeps items way more manageable and fair.

Just fucking end Mario Kart already and make it into Super Zoom Kart so we can have more interesting stages to race on and more fan favorite characters instead of bottom-of-the-barrel racers like lakitu and metal baby pink gold doctor tanooki Rosalina and Luma.

There are no items, but there are keys and locked short cuts. Every lap, the last 4 players get a key that lets them access a short cut and maybe catch up. It doesn't punish anyone for playing well, and it doesn't handhold you to victory either.
