they should add a donation function on the mod's steam page, having a paywall for mods would be fucking disastrous no matter what
Insert jack sparrow saying "shoo" to 9gag logo here
I still like the way valve has approached DRM and mod-dev support. The percentage mod-devs get was way too low. But im sure valve wont make the same mistake.
Fuck me amirite

They're going to take 70% of the revenue paid mods make like they did lat time
>>377245925
Then i wont defend it. If they made it like 20 or 30 percent i would deem it passable.
Is it confirmed that it will be 70 percent?

The reason steam takes a bigger cut of the revenue is because the split it with the developer/publisher of the game I.E Bethesda
>35%
>35%
>30%
That doesn't sound bad now, split three ways

But your mod has to at least make $400 before you see any money. Valve and Bethseda already take their cut once one person buys the mod. But you have to wait until you make at least $400 with said mod

yeah it dosnt sound bad why take a 100% of donations if you can split 75% of any profit you make with valve and bethesta, is not like they already make a bunch of money.
KYS retard

gta v will never allow comprehensive mods because it goes against their cash shop
the only extensively moddable games are beth games and fallout 4 made modding anything such a gigantic pain the ass that f4se is nowhere near as feature complete as skse and it carried over the same problems to skyrim se which is also why skse64 will take literally years to get anywhere. by the time tes6 comes out all your going to able to change is textures and ui if you're lucky.
mark my words: 32 bit skyrim and projects like enderal and skywind/skyblivion will be the last you'll ever see of total conversions or modding at that level. games hardly even ship with level editors/sdks anymore because that also mean free dlc instead of charging for it. modding will be dead by 2020.

>developers/distributors making any money off of player modifications
Fuck that
