What's the problem here? If you think about it logically you can clearly see a pattern in the review scores. Narrative based games with good gameplay get better scores than narrative games with mediocre gameplay and games without any clear narrative get lower scores. You don't have to agree with him but it's pretty obvious that he enjoys games to be bombastic and in his face with action heavy scenes.
