Brazilfag reporting in. I can indeed confirm that the game has become noticeably less responsive now that i'm getting around 300 ping. Summoning retainers, talking to NPCs, crafting, gathering and all overworld actions now have a very annoying delay to them. Fortunately, after running 5 trial roulettes i can also confirm that it didn't change combat at, strangely enough. I'm still able to dodge all AoEs with standard timing and my actions have no lag behind them, which is a pleasent surprise.

Can we drop this idea that dropping your tank stance makes you a good tank? It's bullshit, and not something people should strive towards when they're still learning the job. Your number one job as a tank is to keep things hitting you. Dropping your tank stance is antithetical to this.

Say you have a SMN who, after using Quelling Strikes on their first Dreadwyrm Trance, gets a lucky string of crits while setting up their second. While you're sitting there with your stanceless sea urchins, the mobs (except for your main target) all turn away and nuke the SMN before either you or the healer can react.

East coast players, on the contrary, just saw there latencies increase dramatically. Square Enix has hampered their ability to effectively play the game after the fact. In the former case, connections have always been shit, while in the latter, connections that were previously fine have, in turn, gone to shit.

This could have been avoided, at least in part, by seeking a more centrally located data center, but I guess that would have made too much sense.
